Mineskill | Coal Quality Course

ALS Coal Technology, through its training services business 'MineSkill', delivers unique and industry recognised courses in various formats and durations which also include specific tailoring of courses to meet client training needs.

MineSkill offers a number of short courses including:

  1. Site sampling
  2. Conducting thickening & clarifying processes
  3. Conducting wet gravity separation
  4. Operation of separation equipment
  5. Plant shutdown & restart management. 

ALS Coal now offers the following nationally accredited courses

  • Certificate II in Resource Industry Work Preparation
  • Certificate II in Resource Processing
  • Certificate III in Resource Processing
  • Certificate IV in Resource Processing
  • Enterprise Trainer & Assessor Skill Set
  • Team Leadership for Resource Processing Supervisors
  • Basic IT Skills for Plant Technicians 

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID #90928), MineSkill can provide site trainees with  recognised Certificates of Competency or Statements of Attainment at the completion of accredited courses. These qualifications are fully transportable throughout the mining industry.

Coal Quality Course
World renowned 3-day Coal Quality Course examines, in depth, the issues affecting the quality of your end product, its attractiveness to potential clients and its impact on the environment. The course is presented by recognised experts in the field of coal quality for both thermal and coking coals, who offer practical advice on world’s best practice for the management of coal quality and its environmental impacts.

The course includes several workshop activities, a visit to a Power Station to examine the impact of coal quality on power generation, and a tour of ALS Coal’s own pilot coking plant and pilot scale PFI boiler to see how our comprehensive testing regimes can help you to improve your coal quality management. All Coal Quality Course participants will receive a copy of the popular industry textbook 'Understanding Coal Quality' as part of the attendance.
